⛪ Monthly Joint Worship Services – On the last Sunday of each month, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Hilltop Lutheran Church, and First English Lutheran Church gather for a joint Holy Communion service at 10:00 AM.

The location will rotate among the three congregations:

September 27- Gloria Dei Lutheran Church

November 1 – Hilltop Lutheran Church

November 29- First English Lutheran Church

🌼 Altar Flowers – The altar flowers are given in honor of the anniversary of Dolores and John Miller.

⛪ Church Council Meeting – The GDLC Church Council meets tomorrow, Monday, September 14, at 6:30 PM.

📖 Wednesday Bible Study – Bible Study meets Wednesdays at 10:00 AM.

🎉 146th Anniversary Celebration – On September 20 at 9:00 AM, we will celebrate one week early our 146 years of faithful ministry in Word and Sacrament. The charter for Gloria Dei was signed on September 27, 1880, by the 33 gentlemen immortalized on the Founder’s Plaque in the north narthex stairway.

Please bring a treat to share as we celebrate this beautiful anniversary during coffee hour following the worship service.

🏠 Roof Repair Discussion – Following worship on September 20, we will have a brief meeting to discuss the proposed roof repairs.

⛪ Joint Worship Service – September 27 – On September 27, First English and Hilltop will join us at 10:00 AM for a joint Holy Communion service at Gloria Dei.

👐 God’s Work, Our Hands – Our three congregations will be collecting items to be assembled into Personal Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief at Gloria Dei following our joint worship service on September 27.

📋 Consolidation Survey – We want to hear from you! Our task forces have compiled a series of questions seeking feedback from members of all three congregations. As each task force prepares to make recommendations, this is an opportunity to share your feedback and opinions, which will help guide those recommendations.

The online survey is open now and will close on Sunday, September 20. While completing the survey online is preferred, hard copies will be available on Sunday at all three congregations if needed.

Please take about 15 minutes to complete the survey. Your feedback and priorities are important to the task force leaders as we continue to build the framework for All Saints Lutheran Church.

🙏 Praying for the Work of Consolidation – The Consolidation Task Force has invited members of our three congregations to lift up a different task force each week in their personal prayers. This week, we encourage you to pray for the Budget and Finances Task Force as they continue to identify the financial assets and liabilities of each church, with the goal of establishing an initial budget for All Saints Lutheran Church.

🌧️ Disaster Response for Hoosiers Affected by August Storms – You can donate to disaster response efforts to help provide flood buckets that are instrumental in helping families clean and recover their homes. You can learn more and donate through the Indiana-Kentucky Synod by clicking this link.

🎄 First English Lutheran Holiday Bazaar – First English Lutheran Church is hosting its annual holiday bazaar on Saturday, November 7. We are asking for donations for the raffle table. Please bring your donated items to First English and place them in the Bazaar Room, located off the left side of the chancel. You can also purchase Nelson’s Port-A-Pit chicken.

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, located at 225 East Haney Avenue in South Bend, Indiana, is a welcoming congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Led by Rev. Patrick Ballard, the church offers Holy Communion services on Sundays. The community is active in ministry, embracing Lutheran teachings and traditions to support spiritual growth and well-being.
